Description
The Venetian mask is an ancient Italian tradition. Worn primarily during the annual Venice Carnival, but present throughout the year, you can't be in the city of Venice and not see a huge variety of unique examples. Very ornate in many colours and designs, each one a different character from the next, it's difficult to choose just one to take home. Do you pick the smiling jester, grinning wickedly, or the melancholy Pierrot Clown, his troubles visible on his solemn face... the bizarre plague doctor, his oversized beak a reminder of terrifying times, or the dainty Colombina, just enough to cover a ladies eyes and give her a little mystery....... I hand blended textures with my original photograph in pastel peach tones, to compliment the old world feel of this classic Venetian scene.
