Description
The Venetian mask is a very old tradition. Worn throughout Venice during the annual Carnival, but always present during the year, you can't be in the famous city on the water and not see thousands of examples. Extremely ornate in vibrant colours and designs, each one is a different character from the next, it's hard to choose just one to take home. Do you pick the smiling jester, grinning wickedly, or the sad Pierrot Clown, his troubles visible on his melancholy face... the outrageous plague doctor, his oversized beak a reminder of terrifying times, or the delicate Colombina, just enough to cover a ladies eyes and give her a little mystery....... I hand blended textures with my original photograph in black and white to compliment the old world feel of this classic Venetian image.
